We are proud to announce a new integration between Mopinion and Google Chat. This new integration will enable digital teams to automatically push specific feedback items to groups in Google Chat, allowing for easy feedback distribution and improved collaboration.
Google Chat is a well-known messaging platform that allows both direct messaging and group messaging in ‘Rooms’. It’s a great way for teams to communicate and collaborate by way of file-sharing, real-time chat and audio / video conferencing. Thanks to Mopinion’s webhook feature, this integration is quick and easy.
Benefits of the new Google Chat integration
This new integration caters to the many organisations that leverage chat tools as logging and internal communications systems. With chat rooms within Google Chat, these organisations can easily share and create system alerts for incoming feedback items all based on certain conditions if they should choose. For example, feedback items about website bugs can be forwarded to a chat room for which the organisation’s web developers can subscribe.
How to integrate Google Chat using webhooks
With Google Chat, the same configuration options – such as other tools in our webhook system – are available. These configuration options are based on set conditions, meaning you can push certain feedback items depending on your settings directly to Google Chat.
Essentially how this works is the feedback is posted to your Google Chat endpoint. You can decide – based on preset criteria – when you’d like to post feedback data to Google Chat.
To set this up within the Mopinion software, you’ll first need to go to the Google Chat room where you want to push your feedback items. Here you will click on the name of your chat (i.e. Mopinion webhook) at the top where the pulldown appears and select ‘Configure webhooks’:
A window will appear where you must name your webhook (i.e. NPS passive webhook). The Avatar URL is optional so this can be left blank.
Once you’ve submitted your name, click on ‘Save’.
Google Chat will then generate an endpoint URL for you. Copy this and go to your Mopinion dashboard. Go to Integrations > Webhooks.
Here you will be prompted to fill in a form with all of your settings. You can start by selecting a type of webhook (options included general or the Google Chat webhook), and choosing your API endpoint (most of the time this will be the URL where the feedback data will be sent to).
Then you can select which data you’d like to send. The parameters are the feedback fields you want to post, for example, if you only want to send the score and the feedback comment. The default for this function is all parameters (all feedback fields), unless you want to specify parameters to only send certain fields (for example, only the ‘open comments’ or ‘scores’.
Lastly you’ll need to select when your webhook should be sent. You can do this by selecting a condition, i.e. when the visitor submits a 1 or 2 as their answer to the question ‘How would you rate this page?’ in your feedback survey. And then finally, give your webhook a name.
