Autumn has begun and Mopinion is gearing up for the final quarter of 2020. As our growth continues, we’ve once again taken the opportunity to bring on several new members to the team. In continuation of our Employee in the Spotlight series, we will introduce our newest employees one-by-one. As you know, last month we sat down with Haroon, our Customer Success Manager and ISO Project Lead, so this time around we’re shining the light on Claire, our Customer Success representative.
Meet Claire. Claire joined the Mopinion team a few months ago when the entire team was still working remotely. This was a strange way to start a new job, but we’ve tried to give Claire a warm welcome during this unusual situation. Despite being a Mopinion newbie, Claire has adjusted quickly to working here. She’s great with helping our customers and trying to find ways to enrich the Mopinion knowledge base. But when she’s not behind her computer she’s either busy with her studies as an Econometrics major or out for a run. In fact, sometime next year several members of the Mopinion team plan on running the Rotterdam Marathon, Claire’s certainly joined Mopinion at the right time!
We recently interviewed Claire on a video call to learn more about our newest employee and her busy student life.
Working at Mopinion
What does your position at Mopinion entail?
“I work at the Customer Success department, where I try to smoothen the process for customers using our Mopinion software. For example, I write articles on how to complete a certain task with our software, which is then posted to our Support Forum. If customers send us an email with a question, I try to answer them as well.”
What initially drew you to Mopinion?
“When I was searching for a job, I found Mopinion online. A SaaS company that works for several large international companies really appealed to me. I had my interview, and even though it was online due to COVID19, I could sense there was a great vibe at Mopinion.”
What does a typical work day look like for you?
“Usually I start my day with a cup of coffee and by checking my email. I haven’t worked here for very long yet, but my days differ a lot. Sometimes I’ll spend time on writing new articles for our Knowledge Base, or help a customer, and sometimes I’ll help out with Salesforce tasks for the Sales Department.”
What is your favorite part about working at Mopinion?
“The freedom and flexibility. I also like how the social aspects of work are really important here.”
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?
“As I haven’t been at Mopinion for long yet, I haven’t faced many real challenges yet. Though, it sometimes is challenging to answer emails from customers who have technical questions. I’m not too familiar yet with the ins and outs of our software.”
What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?
“As a new employee, it’s hard to say, but writing new articles about our software that’ll be published on the Support Forum, which is open to everyone, is something I’m proud of.”

What do you like to do in your free time?
“I like to workout; I run and go to the gym a few times a week. A few months ago I joined the half marathon in The Hague, but my goal is to run the full marathon. I also like to play the piano and just hang out with my friends.”
What is your guilty pleasure?
“Singing along to bad Dutch songs (for example ‘Het is een Nacht, by Guus Meeuwis’) and enjoying cocktails with my friends.”
Who inspires you?
“No one in particular, but I always admire people who have come a long way. People who struggle along the way, but still manage to achieve their goals and prove their disbelievers wrong.”
What is one thing you can’t live without?
“My friends and family. But playing sports and listening to music is important to me too.”
What is your favorite quote?
“The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary.”
What is your biggest fear?
“We used to have a lot of mice in our house. Sometimes I had to try and catch them, as they would be in my bedroom. I have also had to pick up a dead mouse by the front door of our house. Slightly traumatized now…”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
“In five years, I will have finished my master’s degree. Maybe by then I will have started working full time, possibly at Mopinion, or maybe I will be travelling around the world. Who knows.”
What is something that not many people know about you?
“When I lived in Finland, I wanted to take piano lessons at the age of four, but my teacher said I had to wait another year since my hands were still too small. I decided to wait another year, and ended up taking lessons for 13 years.”
