We like to call this, ‘having a mindset for growth’. And one of the best places to find this inspiration as well as stay ahead of the latest trends and best practices in the user experience space is to consult expert opinions, which – you guessed it – are often found in articles on User Experience (UX) blogs.
Luckily for you, part of my job as a content marketer in the UX space is to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in user experience; a task which requires quite a bit of online research. That being said, here are our top 10 favorite and hottest user experience blogs that we think you should be following:
1. UX Booth
UX Booth is a UX blog that covers a wide range of topics including Analytics, Business Strategy, Content Strategy, Interaction Design, Visual Design, Universal Design & Accessibility and more. Trusted by over 100,000 user experience professionals, this blog is sure to provide you with all kinds of tips and tricks in your field.

2. UX Movement
Articles featured on UX Movement are a combination of research, reasoning and experience. Author and editor Anthony (and guest writers) provide lots of useful insights into UX design covering categories such as forms, navigation, buttons, content, mobile, wireframes and more.

3. UXmatters
Founded by Pabini Gabriel-Petit in 2005, UXmatters is blog and community platform that enables leading UX experts to share their insights and expertise. The blog serves up plenty of advice and best practices as well in-depth thought pieces and future trends in UX. Their mission was to provide the ‘premier source of information and inspiration for UX professionals’ and that has certainly become a reality.

UX Magazine offers a wide range of content on experience design. UX Planet is a user experience blog that runs on the online publishing platform Medium. This blog covers everything under the ‘UX sun’ from general user experience blogs, articles for beginners, user research. They also have a ‘Career’ category that includes a few articles covering design career tips.

Created by Nicholas Tenue in 2015, the UX Blog is a nice resource for UX design, user research and UX strategy. The blog has contributors from a wide range of disciplines so as to give its readers ‘insightful and actionable advice that has practical application in the workplace’. Users can subscribe to their newsletter to receive updates on the latest posts. And bonus! They also release weekly podcasts talking about trends, hot topics and more.

Smashing Magazine has published around 3300 articles in the past 12 years so if its quantity you’re looking for, Smashing might be your best bet. The UX / UX Design section covers the top trends every month so that you can stay abreast of the latest developments. Note: they also publish print books and ebooks.
