Welcome to the October edition of Mopinion’s Employee in the Spotlight! This blog series gives you an inside look at who we are and how our employees contribute to our company culture. As you know, last month we interviewed Claire, one of our Customer Success representatives. This time – and in keeping with the ‘girl power’ vibes – we’re going to highlight one of our newest members of the Sales team, Nadia Gaaliche.
Meet Nadia. Nadia joined the Mopinion team just a few short months ago as our Communications and Business Development Officer (France). Responsible for helping us spread the word about digital user feedback in the French market, she has proven to be a great asset to our team. But when she’s not on the clock, she’s out dancing to JLo, cooking up delicious dishes from her home country Tunisia or you know, being a revolutionary…
Find out more about Nadia in the interview below.
What does your position at Mopinion entail?
“As the Business Development Officer I am always looking for new prospects and expanding the French market by managing the trial sign-ups, demo requests and following up with current customers as well. But in addition to growing the French market, I do a lot of communications work such as translating all types of documents from English to French for Mopinion.”
What initially drew you to Mopinion?
“I actually saw a post from a fellow French-speaking colleague (Fanny) on social media about the position at Mopinion and contacted her right away. I had a really good feeling during the interview process and was thankfully able to convince them that I was the right person for this position and also for Mopinion as a company (as a future family member)! And here I am now, proudly working at Mopinion!”
What does a typical work day look like for you?
“Right after my breakfast (which is very important in my opinion!) I check my emails and from there everyday is different, however it mainly consists of reaching out to prospects who asked for free trial or demo requests, translating documents. My tasks are quite varied and I switch often between the tasks which is a really cool aspect of my position.”
What is your favorite part about working at Mopinion?
She shares that she loves the positive and relaxed atmosphere at work.
“I enjoy working in an international team and being able to participate in activities such as “Social Jam” or “Summer Jam” which is very good for team building.
She also loves the flexibility we’re given and the opportunity to make our own decisions at work and be autonomous as well. She believes that these criteria are important to be happy at work.
What are the biggest challenges you face in your job?
“My biggest challenge is probably time management, especially when it comes to handling different tasks at the same time with short deadlines. I would also add that learning everything about Mopinion’s software, especially the technical parts can be quite challenging.”
What is your proudest moment at Mopinion?
“I haven’t been working at Mopinion for too long yet, but it will definitely be closing my first deals with French customers. Looking forward to it and working hard for it!”
And now for some fun questions…
What do you like to do in your free time?
“Cooking and treating friends to some Tunisian food. I also enjoy taking care of my 20 plants and decorating my apartment. And during summertime, I like sunbathing while drinking a freshly made cocktail. After all, my middle name means “Daughter of the sun”!”
What is your guilty pleasure?
“Dancing to JLo’s hits! I used to be a very big fan of her (I had all the posters, knew all of her songs by heart, and wore clothes from her clothing line), and I still love her music ! So I’m still ‘Jenny from the block’ you could say”, she laughs.
Who inspires you?
“No one in particular, but I’m impressed by people who started from nothing and who are building empires now, I admire them. A self-made person.”
What is one thing you can’t live without?
“Harissa of course ! The one and only Tunisian hot chili pepper paste. I always have Harissa in stock at home.”
What is your favorite quote?
“Great things never come from comfort zones.”
What is your biggest fear?
“Facing conflicts. It can be very stressful for me!”
Where do you see yourself in five years?
“I don’t know what tomorrow is made of. I’m not a big planner but I love to live in the present and stay optimistic. Since I moved to the Netherlands, I’m happy and I always love to be surprised by life.”
What is something that not many people know about you?
“I participated in the Tunisian revolution by protesting against the corrupted system in 2011. During one of the events related to the revolution, some photographers took pictures of me. Afterwards I found some of my pictures in Tunisian newspapers and TV shows but the media showed my picture as a revolutionary woman, even though they don’t know me! In fact, one of the pictures was widely shared on social media.”
Pretty fierce, right?
“A funnier one is that I love the Tunisian traditional costumes! On many occasions I get dressed by my mom during weddings in my family. This reminds me where I come from and how much I love our traditions.”
Stay tuned for more!
